APPLESAUCE
1/2 B
& R Farms Apricots
3 pounds (about 8) Macintosh apples, quartered
1/2 pound (about 1-1/3 cups) B & R Farms Dried Apricots
1/4 cup sugar, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon if desired
In a kettle combine the apples, the apricots, and 1 cup water, bring the
water to a boil, and simmer the fruit, covered, stirring occasionally,
for 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender, Force the mixture through
a food mill fitted with a medium disk or through a sieve into a bowl,
stir in the sugar and the cinnamon if desired, and let the applesauce
cool. Serve the applesauce with yogurt or sour cream for breakfast or
with roast pork or poultry.
